This is one of the Bridgwater Circle series of paintings taken at La Ciotat house, Old Taunton Road, Bridgwater, Somerset.
I was taken with the big modern lights and the distortion of the brick mortar lines by the glass sphere. The house named after a commune in the south of France. The painting shares its sunny disposition.
La Ciotat French pronunciation: lasjɔˈta is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southern France. It is part of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis. La Ciotat is located at an equal distance from Marseille and Toulon. Its inhabitants are called “Ciotadens” or “Ciotadennes”.
In the course of painting this image, I have turned the light upside down.
