Take Cover

This is one of the Bridgwater Circle series of paintings. A modern services cover photographed while walking in Bridgwater, Somerset on Fore street in the pavement near Bright house.
I was very taken with the spotty pattern with its soiled ring. The bright new metallic finish shining in the sun had suffered a bird strike. I have often thought that the gulls take aim on people and anything that catches their eye. The pristine metal finish truly christened it and the bird must have been happy with its aim, the remnants of this bulls eye shot left nestled in its ring. The metallic finish enhanced on my computer to gorgeous sea blues and beautiful greens and the guano, an exotic, shy fish hiding in the circle ready to dart away.
