Etchings, Paintings & Calligraphy by Janet Jordan
Janet Jordan is a painter and printmaker, and her favourite medium is etching.
Etching is a very traditional form of printmaking; designs are hand drawn
onto a zinc plate, etched, inked and then printed with a press. It is a time
consuming process, and the results can be varied, which is all part of the
fun!
Her designs are quirky and can often contain text as an integral part of the
design, in the same way that William Blake did – one of her favourite artists.
This has led her to take up calligraphy, another traditional art form which
demands a lot of practice to perfect.
All three of these art forms are on show in the exhibition.
Janet has been an artist for many years and sells her work through over 30
galleries and outlets across the U.K.
