This is one of the Bridgwater Circle series of paintings taken at the railway station, Bridgwater, Somerset.
I was taken with the drain cover and its handle, looking for all the world like a London Underground sign. The orange rust in the lower level and the shine reflecting NHS blue on the raised surfaces is a great contrast, and the leaves in the hole under the handle looked to me like a mask. Public transport in these times is making people scared to be close to other people, so it seemed poignant that the handle looks like a no entry sign, keeping the individual isolated.
