Chrysomallos

A Bridgwater Circle series painting of an image of a post from the Somerset Bridge canal path next to the Bridge on the lane from Taunton Road, Bridgwater.
I have worked on this painting for a while, first taken with the purple blue planet in the background offset from the bright ring in front of, I worked some more on it. I was at first thinking ‘wolf moon’ but no, it was not ‘moon’ but some more remote celestial body, something shadowy mysterious, from deep into the night sky, way beyond our solar system, glimpsed through a magic portal. This glowing golden ring held in place by the power of the Chrysomallos, an ancient winged ram with the golden fleece.
