Kicking off with the spectacular Bridgwater Twilight spooky Bridgy Gallery Sculpture garden, followed by our Halloween & Carnival & Darklight exhibition openings. Halloween wreath making workshops, all topped off by the Carnival on the 1st November. A mild year weatherise but full on event wise!

The fun did not stop there, we have been making flowers for the Bridgwater Together project – Displayed at the Town hall on the 15th November. Alongside Gaia 7m planet earth inside the Town hall – last year it was the full moon installed at the docks. 

Wondrous Bridgwater, and not just for carnival.

Soon it will be the spirit of goodwill to all.

Looking forward to the tinsel and bright lights of our Yule time exhibition, starting on the 3rd December. Our last shopping day at the gallery is Saturday 20th December.

Our first event is the Bee making workshops Sami is holding on Saturday morning starting at 11am

There is a seed program of creative events and venues around Bridgwater, along with the National gallery paintings that can be seen around town. Bridgy gallery is supposed to have two of these on the garage side of the building, but they have not been installed yet!

All things bright & beautiful in the garage gallery showing Andrew Adam & Des Fox both, local artists (painters) with Hive’s eco/bee exhibition and swarm displaying lovely work from local artists which includes painting, 3D art, computer art, photographs, stained-glass, small sculptures and a life-size gold beehive! 

Then we are part of Twilight – on the map and a venue for Bridgwater again this year – we are decorating and lighting up the garden with a spooky theme.

The garage gallery will be-hung with Halloween & Carnival in preparation for opening exhibition on Wednesday 15th.

On the 17th the long gallery hosts a dark light exhibition. Alan Moule and others with glow in the dark and UV activated art.

Then on Saturday afternoon 25th, Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th and Friday Morning workshops for parent and child Fun Halloween wreath making with pipe cleaners, recycled materials, autumn leaves making bats, pumpkins and spiders to decorate their wreaths.

And we finish off with a free to attend children’s Halloween dress-up party which morphs/transforms into an evening adult fancy dress party with live acoustic music poetry games etc. on Friday 31st pm.

On 15th September, Bridget received the iGap travelguide award 2025 for the second year in a row!

The conclusion to our flag making workshops was a bunting display in Cranleigh Gardens for the Bridgwater Cultural Festival on Saturday.

What a hot day, great food tasting, a catch-up with familiar faces and some relief under the big trees by the lake. Music accompanied our wandering around the stalls, talking to interesting volunteers and vendors.

What a day we had. The mural painted by our resident artist Bridget greeted our guests. We had many VIP guests, including the Mayor, who came along with photos and shared their memories of the momentous day 80 years ago when they celebrated the end of the war in Europe.

Several artists brought VE Day inspired paintings, and we had a display of newspapers and books from that period, with an example of just how little you were allowed on rations for the week. Also, there was a cake made with only ration supplies. Tea and cake on the patio.

We had a doodlebug drawing, cut out Nazi bombers and red, white and blue bunting.  The fairy cakes and fruit cakes were delicious, as was our popular Red pitcher — consisting of white rum, lemonade and blood orange squash and a Blue drink, non-alcoholic Blueberry blue grape & lemonade.

Noddy was our poet for the afternoon and read some moving poetry about the war and some of his wonderful poems. We had 1940s music playing in the background as people talked, and in the evening we had a knees-up party with DJ Rich, who played requests. A good time had by all.

For the past 16 years, Corporate Live Wire and LTG business platforms have been organizing national and international awards. In 2018, they launched the iGap Travel magazine, offering a range of budget-friendly, once-in-a-lifetime experiences designed to inspire students to travel. Their expert travel team provides recommendations to help students plan and make the most of their trips. They are passionate about highlighting smaller, independent businesses that are exceptionally successful and dedicated to their communities. Their focus is on businesses that resonate with students and are likely to attract their interest.

From 19th to 22nd February, a colourful print workshop was held at Bridgy Gallery. This artist led activity for small groups was a lot of fun, playing with colour and cutting out.

Following a successful carnival & spooky period where the baby changing facilities came into their own, we provided refreshments & toilet, disabled toilet facilities for the carnival goers and our friends & regulars. 

The Art2Art regular Thursdays and our Wednesday Gaming night have been great fun – the fun and games has come indoors for the winter, we have a splinter group of partially sighted gamers playing dominoes and trivial pursuit. Also, we hosted the Bridgwater Cultural partnership Christmas meeting.

Mulled wine and mince pies pre-Xmas Sale went down well with our customers.

I have become completely distracted, nay obsessed with the jewellery making glam-cycling of old CDs and DVDs’s into beautiful handmade earrings and necklaces, slides & broaches, using old DVD covers as jewellery boxes. Keeping it all from landfill and making it desirable and useful once more – love it!

I have had a cataract removed as my main present – hope your presents were good too?
