A Bridgwater Circle series painting. The photograph captured while exploring in the car park behind the Sea Cadets hall near the docks in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The photograph of the two round holes in a piece of large sheet material captured a spider’s web making good use of the left circular aperture. Focusing on the left side, there was something about the shape of the web, the tension created and once I had brought out its colours, the electric blue in a pink surround which appealed to me, as does the fact spider webs are so strong, strong as steel, I believe.
