For the past 16 years, Corporate Live Wire and LTG business platforms have been organizing national and international awards. In 2018, they launched the iGap Travel magazine, offering a range of budget-friendly, once-in-a-lifetime experiences designed to inspire students to travel. Their expert travel team provides recommendations to help students plan and make the most of their trips. They are passionate about highlighting smaller, independent businesses that are exceptionally successful and dedicated to their communities. Their focus is on businesses that resonate with students and are likely to attract their interest.

From 19th to 22nd February, a colourful print workshop was held at Bridgy Gallery. This artist led activity for small groups was a lot of fun, playing with colour and cutting out.

Following a successful carnival & spooky period where the baby changing facilities came into their own, we provided refreshments & toilet, disabled toilet facilities for the carnival goers and our friends & regulars. 

The Art2Art regular Thursdays and our Wednesday Gaming night have been great fun – the fun and games has come indoors for the winter, we have a splinter group of partially sighted gamers playing dominoes and trivial pursuit. Also, we hosted the Bridgwater Cultural partnership Christmas meeting.

Mulled wine and mince pies pre-Xmas Sale went down well with our customers.

I was invited to be the subject of a short film about Bridgy Gallery, which can be seen on YouTube. Here is the link.

I have become completely distracted, nay obsessed with the jewellery making glam-cycling of old CDs and DVDs’s into beautiful handmade earrings and necklaces, slides & broaches, using old DVD covers as jewellery boxes. Keeping it all from landfill and making it desirable and useful once more – love it!

I have had a cataract removed as my main present – hope your presents were good too?

Somerset Film’s, a ‘Film in a Day’ project, had the challenge of promoting the new Bridgy Gallery in Bridgwater – the home of accomplished artist Bridget Penn-Berkeley.
The students learnt about green-screen filming, interview preparation, location filming at the Gallery and the basics of editing.
We were really delighted with their creative work as a film team.

On the 21st of September we were host to Bridgwater Twilight. A fuse fire & light event involving nine sites in the centre of Bridgwater, and we were one of them. The garden was lit up with two soundscapes set up for the public to enjoy – it was a very successful evening event, even the rain stopped!  It was a perfect twilight to stroll around the town and see the dance, light and soundscapes. Just magical, bringing people together in wonder.

Busy time ahead
This was just the warm-up for a very busy event filled time for Bridgwater –  we have Somerset Art Weeks, along with our Double award black tie party, then the Big Moon sculpture coming to the Docks in October, and of course, our world-famous carnival. Here at Bridgy Gallery, we will be displaying Halloween & carnival art whist lighting up the garden in a spooky way!

Summer has arrived at Bridgy gallery. What a busy spring we have had, working on the garden, growing numerous plants from seed for the garden, and tidying the undercover yard for our garage sale. All the while watching what has come up in last year’s transplanted garden. We had some spring flowers, then forget-me-nots.

The horseshoe garden seat brickwork has been completed and a new lawn grown, dedicated to John Brooks. We are calling it the John Brooks green in his honour. We have had exciting work from the Art Students and tested out the Wonky Walking Bus. Discovered Pokémon at the gallery and welcomed Pete’s exhibition, Rivers of Colour.

We look forward to Sue Podbery’s Countryside Collection exhibition, Tony Machin’s From the Heart exhibition, a new photographic exhibition and Round Bridgwater exhibition from our resident artist Bridget. Not forgetting the opening of the walled memorial sculpture garden to the public.
