Glory on Display in the Skies

Over the last couple of years, I have been noticing the beautiful skies, so many different colours, cloud formations & shades, constantly changing, never the same. So, I have been enjoying committing some of these to canvas. It has helped me to keep my painting a bit looser & freer. I have used photos that I have taken, many just quick snaps taken from the window, when I have seen a magnificent sky, others, from photos that various people have shared with me.
The title for the exhibition was inspired by Psalm 19 ‘The heavens declare the glory of God…..’ The exhibition title is how the paraphrase, The Message, puts it. This is always the verse I think of when I look at a beautiful sky.
I hope you enjoy the exhibition. I thoroughly enjoyed preparing it.

Potted History…
I have always enjoyed painting, but for many years did not make the most of this. In 2018, I attended a series of Staff Wellbeing art classes at my place of work & this inspired me to start painting again. I attended further workshops and started doing more painting at home. In 2022, I decided to take early retirement, and do some part time work. This has given me much more opportunity to paint. I find sketching/painting hugely relaxing & rewarding – I wish I had started doing more of it years ago!
